The other day at a staff meeting, I had a flashback. The staff training situation reminded me of my early martial arts training days.
One of my old instructors stressed that one should always continue to polish your sword. The first time I heard it I brushed it off. The next time he said that phrase to me it was just after he complimented me on my technique. Even though my technique had improved tremendously he stressed that it can still get better.
So, in the staff meeting, I stressed the exact same thing. Even when you are good or great at your job that you can get better. You can also continue improving and refining the process.
That is my martial arts lesson that helps in every day life. Learn the skills. Perfect the skills. Streamline the process.
Have fun!
