Training your Core is one of the most important parts of your fitness if not the most important part. Your core provides stabilization for your spine. By providing this stabilization, we are able to live and function as we do every day. Athletes are able to perform dynamic and explosive movements that are demanded of them.
Most people think that training your core is just doing sit ups or crunches. Instead, your core is made up of a lot of muscles that all help to do the same job. A few of those muscles are; transverse abdominus, rectus abdominus, inner/outer obliques, & erector spinae just to name a few.
Where do you go from here? Read a few books. Meet with a trainer and get an assessment. Then, get started! Have fun!
